Boykott COSTA & ROYAL CARIBBEAN!

Nach unserer Recherche im Oktober 2018 im Delfinarium im Mediterraneo Marine Park in Valletta / Malta stellten wir dort eine katastrophale Tierhaltung fest.

Im Moment befinden sich in diesem Delfinarium sechs Delfine. Drei Wildfänge aus Kuba und drei Nachzuchten.

Es starben bereits acht Delfine! Vier Wildfänge aus dem Schwarzen Meer (Russland), drei Wildfänge aus Kuba und eine Nachzucht!

Die Besucher des Delfinariums sind meistens Touristen und Gäste von Kreuzfahrtschiffen, die in Valletta anlegen und einen Zwischenstopp einlegen.
Gibt es Buchungen für das Schwimm-Programm, dann werden Delfine vom Show-Becken in Tücher gepackt und von sechs Mitarbeitern in ein anderes Becken getragen! Eine stetige Tortour für die Delfine!

Die Kreuzfahrt-Unternehmen COSTA & ROYAL CARIBBEAN bieten das "Schwimmen mit Delfinen" in diesem Delfinarium ihren Gästen als Landausflug an und verdienen an dieser kommerziellen Tierausbeutung mit!

Wir schrieben am 2. Juni 2019 die Geschäftsleitungen beider Unternehmen an und legten ihnen auch unser Dokumentations-Material vor. Wir baten um ein eigenes Audit und forderten diese auf, ihre Landausflugs-Angebote in das Delfinarium aus ihren Programmen zu nehmen.

COSTA antworte uns überhaupt nicht und ROYAL CARIBBEAN wollte sich darum kümmern. Wir hörten jedoch bis heute nichts mehr von diesem Unternehmen.

Wir rufen aus Tierschutzgründen dazu auf, die beiden Kreuzfahrt-Unternehmen COSTA & ROYAL CARIBBEAN zu boykottieren und keine Reisen mehr bei diesen beiden Unternehmen mehr zu buchen!

Über diesen Boykott-Aufruf haben wir beide Unternehmen unterrichtet!

Boycott COSTA & ROYAL CARIBBEAN!

After our research into the dolphinarium at the Mediterraneo Marine Park in Valletta, Malta, in October 2018, we found that the animals were kept in a detrimental, species inappropriate environment.

Currently there are six dolphins housed in this dolphinarium. Three caught from the wild in Cuban waters and three offspring.

Eight dolphins have already died! Four of those were wild caught from Russia's Black Sea, three wild caught from Cuba and one offspring!

Visitors to the dolphinarium consist mainly of tourists and guests from cruise liners, docked in Valletta for stopovers.

If there are tourists booked for the swimming with dolphins program, the dolphins involved must be wrapped in cloth and man handled by six employees from the show pool into another pool! Manually being carried out of the water is a constant stress and a physically torturous experience for the dolphins!

The cruise companies COSTA & ROYAL CARIBBEAN both offer the "swimming with dolphins” program to their guests as a shore excursion at this dolphinarium. These companies are commercially exploiting these animals for money!

On June 2, 2019, we wrote to the management of both companies and submitted our researched documentation material to them. We asked them to confirm our findings through their own investigations and also asked them to remove these harmful excursions to this dolphinarium from their cruise programs.

We received no response at all from COSTA and ROYAL CARIBBEAN wanted to 'take care of it'. However we have not had any further response from this company to date.

For animal welfare reasons we call for a boycott of these two cruise companies, COSTA & ROYAL CARIBBEAN, and to stop booking travel arrangements with these two companies!

We have informed both companies about this boycott appeal!
