- Türkei – Das bis dahin kleinste Delfinarium der Welt ist
verschwunden – Hotel-Gäste schwimmen heute dort, wo fürher
Delfine eingesperrt waren!
Rückblick:
In
2011 wurden wir auf 2 Delfine aufmerksam, die in einem kleinen
Gitter-Gefängnis zur Unterhaltung von Hotelgästen in Gefangenschaft
gehalten wurden.
Sofort
flogen wir in die Türkei, um uns in dem 5-Sterne-Resort-Hotel
Kefaluka bei Bodrum ein Bild von der Lage zu machen.
Und
tatsächlich, wir fanden die beiden Delfine in einem mehr als
desolaten Zustand vor - eingepfercht in einem Bauzaungefängnis. Sie
mussten für die Hotelgäste Tricks vorführen und für
Schwimmprogramme mit ihnen herhalten.
Wir
intervenierten sofort beim Hotel-Management und forderten die
sofortige Schließung. Wir drohten ihnen Kampagnen an, nach denen ihr
Hotel schließen müsste. Das Hotel hatte damals vorwiegend Gäste,
die nur von einem Hotel-Vermittler stammten. Dieser war grundsätzlich
gegen die Haltung von Delfinen in Gefangenschaft. Zum Glück für die
Delfine!
Das
Management geriet in Panik und organisierte über Nacht den
Rücktransport der beiden Delfine in das Haupt-Delfinarium des
Betreibers in Bodrum!
Am
nächsten Morgen war der Käfig in diesem Hotel leer! Die Delfine
waren weg.
Vor
ein paar Wochen besuchten wir unangemeldet erneut dieses Hotel und
wollten uns davon überzeugen, dass dort wirklich keine Delfine mehr
sind. Und so ist es auch. Die Drahtgitter sind weg und an der Stelle
wo sie damals waren, schwimmen heute Hotelgäste im offenen Meer. Das
Management teilte uns mit, dass das damals ein großer Fehler von
ihnen war und sie gaben uns das Versprechen ab, nie wieder Delfine in
Gefangenschaft zu halten. Sie seien jetzt zudem ein grünes
Umwelthotel und mit Tierquälerei werden sie nie etwas wieder zu tun
haben wollen. Erst recht wollten sie nie mit den grausamen
Delfinar-Treibjagden in Taiji in Japan in Verbindung gebracht werden.
Die Delfine aus Bodrum stammen teilweise aus der Ukraine, die bereits
dreimal Delfine aus Japan importiert hatte.
Wir
glauben dem Hotel-Management und freuen uns über deren schnellen
Einsicht, ihr Delfinarium nach nur 14 Tagen Betrieb wieder zu
schließen. Gerne empfehlen wir nun auch den Aufenthalt in diesem
Hotel.

Nachdem Urlaubsgäste des türkischen 5-Sterne-Hotels Kefaluka in Bodrum kritisch in einem Urlaubsforum über das Schwimmen mit gefangenen verletzten Delfinen in einem kleinen Meereskäfig des Hotels berichteten, entbrannte ein weltweiter Proteststurm. Über das Internet-Netzwerk Facebook erhielt das Hotelmanagement mehrere Tausend Protestnoten.
Andreas Morlok, Geschäftsführer von ProWal und Kuratoriumsmitglied des Wal- und Delfinschutz-Forum (WDSF), machte sich noch am Wochenende auf den Weg in die Türkei, um die Tierquälerei zu stoppen.
Die beiden deutschen Meeresschutz-Organisationen hatten bereits im April mit mehreren Helfern Demonstrationen gegen die Delfinarien in der Türkei veranstaltet. Mit den Bürgermeistern der Städte mit Delfinarien (Alanya, Antalya, Belek, Kemer, Kas, Bodrum, Marmaris, Kusadasi und Istanbul) und dem Gouverneur in Antalya führten Andreas Morlok (ProWal) und Jürgen Ortmüller (WDSF) intensive Gespräche, damit die katastrophale Delfinhaltung in den kleinen Betonbecken und den Wasser-Pools gestoppt wird. In Bodrum sagte der Bürgermeister, Mehmet Kocadon, den Tierschützern sofort eine Schließung des Delfinariums zu, nachdem sie ihm Bilder der Käfig-Haltung vorgelegt hatten.
Der Inhaber des Bodrumer Delfinariums verlud daraufhin bei Nacht und Nebel zwei seiner Delfine und schaffte sie in das Kefaluka-Hotel in der Nähe von Bodrum. Dort mussten die Delfine für das Schwimmen mit Hotelgästen herhalten. Für fünf Minuten Schwimmen mit den Meeressäugern sollten die Urlauber 70 Euro bezahlen.
Morlok konnte vor Ort feststellen, dass beide Delfine schwer verletzt waren.
Ein Delfin hatte keine Zähne mehr und sein Kiefer war verschoben, vermutlich gebrochen. Der andere hatte offene Wunden an der Schnauze.
Der Strand-Käfig hatte nur eine Tiefe von vier Metern, sodass die Tiere überwiegend der sengenden Sonne ausgesetzt waren. Die Delfine hatten einen Sonnenbrand und die Haut auf dem Rücken war bereits dunkel verfärbt.
In unmittelbarer Nähe des Yachthafens und der Hotel-Disco waren sie Tag und Nacht einem ohrenbetäubenden Lärm ausgesetzt.
Sie bekommen nur eine Sorte Fisch zu fressen. Das ist viel zu einseitig. Die Tiere leiden an Hunger. Sie sind träge und haben keinen Lebenswillen mehr!
Die Tiere bräuchten dringend Ruhe und tierärztliche Versorgung. Abstand von Menschen.
After vacationers of the Turkish 5-star hotel of Kefaluka in Bodrum critically reported in a holiday forum about the swimming with caughted injured dolphins in a tiny sea pen of the hotel, a worldwide public outcry broke out. On the Internet network facebook the hotel management received several thousand note of protests.
Andreas Morlok, the ceo of ProWal and a member of the board of trustees of the Whale and Dolphin Protection Forum (WDSF), hit the road to Turkey at the week-end to stop the animal cruelty.
The both German marine protection organisations had already organised in April with several other animal welfarits a demonstration against the dolphinaria in Turkey. With the mayors of the towns with dolphinaria (Alanya, Antalya, Belek, Kemer, Kas, Bodrum, Marmaris, Kusadasi and Istanbul) and the governor in Antalya Andreas Morlok (ProWal) and Jürgen Ortmüller (WDSF) carried on intensive conversations, so that the catastrophic keeping of dolphins in small concrete tanks and sea pens has to be stopped. The mayor in Bodrum, Mehmet Kocadon, promised immediately to the animal welfarists the closing of the dolfinariums, after they had presented him pictures of the keeping of dolphins in cages.
As a result the owner of the dolphinarium of Bodrum loaded under cover of darkness two of his dolphins and transported them to the Kefaluka Hotel close to Bodrum. There the dolphins had express the swimming with vacationers. For five minutes of swimming with the marine mammals the vacationers should pay 70 euros.
Morlok could find out on site that both dolphins were seriously injured.
One of the dolphins had no teeth and his jaw was moved probably a fracture. The other had bloody abrasions at the snout.
The sea pen had only a depth of four metres (0,0025 miles), so that the animals had to suffer the torrid sun. The dolphins had a sunburn and the scin of the backs already was darkly discoloured.
In immediate nearness of the marina and the hotel disco they have been exposed day and night to a deafening noise.
They only get one fish species to eat. That is too much one-sided. The dolphins going hungry. They are inactive and have no will to live.
The animals would urgently need rest. Distance from people.

Andreas Morlok: "Das Mini-Delfin-Gehege war etwa 15 x 15 Meter klein. Ich kenne weltweit kein kleineres Delfin-Gefängnis.
Hotelgäste schwammen von außen zu dem Gehege. Auch Kanufahrer wollten die Delfine aus nächster Nähe anschauen. Motorboote und Jetskis rasten mit ihren dröhnenden Motoren an den Delfinen vorbei. Musik aus der Pierbar und von Ausflugsbooten schallte tagsüber aus den Lautsprechern. Selbst bis weit nach Mitternacht fanden die Delfine durch den Lärm der angrenzenden Discothek und anderen Partys in der Bucht keine Ruhe."

Vacationers swam from the outside to the enclosure. Also canoe drivers wanted to look at the dolphins close by. Motorboats and jet ski speeded with their booming engines along the dolphins. Music from the pier bar and from holiday boats sounded during the day from the loudspeakers. Even until well after midnight the dolphins couldn’t rest by the noise of the bordering disco and other parties in the bay."

Die beiden Delfine waren letztes Jahr noch in einem kleinen Minipool in einem Kaufhaus in Bursa. Nach der Schließung kamen sie in ein kleines Meeresgehege nach Bodrum /Gövernılınk, in dem auch die nutzlose Delfintherapie angeboten wird. Von dort siedelten die Tiere Ende April in dieses Luxus-Hotel um.

Both dolphins were the last year in a tiny tank in a department store in Bursa. After closing they came to a small sea pen to Bodrum/Gövernılınk in which also the useless dolphin therapy is offered. From there the animals were transported to this 5 star hotel at the end of April.

Der Delfintrainer kam immer erst dann mit einer Kühlbox, in der sich kleine tote Fische befanden, auf die Pier, wenn sich ein paar Hotelgäste die Delfine angesehen haben. Ansonsten gab es dort keine Aufsichtsperson.
Er fragte aufdringlich bei den Hotelgästen nach, ob jemand die Delfine streicheln oder gar mit ihnen schwimmen möchte. Manche taten dies, obwohl das Schwimmen mit einem Delfin für gerade einmal fünf Minuten 70,- € kostete.
The dolphin trainer only came on the pier with a cool box in which were small dead fish, when some vacationers has had a look at the dolphins. Otherwise there was no supervisor.
He ask the vacationers with importunity, whether somebody like to stroke the dolphins or even swim with them. Some did this, although the swimming with a dolphin for just five minutes cost 70,-€.

Die Delfine waren träge und hatten keine große Lust, um jemanden durchs Wasser zu ziehen. Sie machten dies nur mit weil sie unter Hunger litten und eine einzige Sorte Fisch zur Belohnung bekamen. Auch mussten die Tiere alberne Kunststücke vorführen, um etwas zu fressen zu bekommen. Delfine betrachten toten Fisch normalerweise als Aas und würden diesen in freier Wildbahn nie anrühren. Ihren Flüssigkeitshaushalt regeln sie über das Fressen von frischem Fisch. Diese Tiere hier sind schon zu lange in Gefangenschaft. In dem Gehege schwammen Fischschwärme, sie zeigten jedoch kein Interesse daran.
The dolphins were inactive and were in no mood to pull somebody through the water. They took part in this, only because they were hungry and for reward got one single kind of fish. To get something to eat the animals had also to show stupid tricks. Usually dolphins consider dead fish as carrion and would never touch this in the wild. They regulate their fluid balance with the food of fresh fish. These animals here are already too long in captivity. In the enclosure shoals swam, nevertheless, they showed no interest in it.
Da der Gast bereits bezahlt hatte, war er für den Delfintrainer nicht mehr so wichtig. Er telefonierte lieber. Möglicherweise mit anderen Gästen, die eine Delfintherapie in der anderen Anlage in Bodrum buchen wollten. Preis für 10 Tage Delfinschwimmen 1.500,- €!

Die meisten Hotelgäste sind beim Abendessen. Die Buffettheken bieten eine Riesenauswahl an Speisen an. Dass die Delfine hier an Hunger leiden, darüber macht sich wohl niemand Gedanken. Der Magen eines in Gefangenschaft gehaltenen Tieres schrumpft bis zur Hälfte seiner ursprünglichen Größe zusammen. Normalerweise fressen Delfine bis zu 15 Kilogramm Fisch am Tag. Diese hier bekamen heute jeweils nur etwa drei Kilogramm.
Most vacationers are at the dinner. The buffet bar offers a gigantic choice in dishes. Probably nobody think about the fact that the dolphins are suffering here from hunger. The stomach of an animal kept in captivity atrophies to half of its original size. Dolphins ordinarily eat up to 15 kilogrammes of fish on the day. These got today in each case only about three kilogrammes.

Was hier für ein Zirkus stattfindet ist reine Tierquälerei und Abzocke ahnungsloser Hotelgäste. Die Delfine halten diesen Irrsinn hier nicht mehr länger aus und werden sicherlich bald sterben, wenn sie nicht schnellstens von hier weggebracht und tierärztlich versorgt werden.

The circus which takes place here is pure animal cruelty and RIP OFF of unsuspecting vacationers. The dolphins can’t stand this madness here any longer and will soon die, it they will not be transported as soon as possible away from here and immediately get supplied veterinary.
Einsichtiges Hotelmanagement!
Das Hotel-Management zeigte sich im Gespräch mit ProWal-Chef Andreas Morlok über die Proteste völlig überrascht und versprach, die Delfine sofort wieder aus der Hotelanlage entfernen zu lassen. Nach eigenen Angaben der Hotel-Sprecherin, Frau Emine Mandira, war sich das Hotelmanagement nicht bewusst, welche Folgen die Delfinhaltung für ihr Image haben könnte. „Nie wieder werden wir solch einer Anfrage mit Delfinen zustimmen“, so Emine Mandira.

The hotel management expressed completely their surprise about the protests in the conversation with the ceo of ProWal Andreas Morlok and promised to let immediately remove the dolphins from the hotel facility. According to the own information of the hotel speaker, Mrs. Emine Mandira, they were not aware which results the keeping of dolphins had have for their image. Emine Mandira announced to the ceo of ProWal „We will never again agree to such an inquiry with dolphins.“
Andreas Morlok:
"Schon einige Online-Proteste brachten die Hotelmanager zum Nachdenken. Wie mir versichert wurde, handelte die Hotelleitung blauäugig, als sie das Angebot des Delfinarienbetreibers in Bodrum annahm, dass die Leute doch die Delfine lieben und es eine ganz besondere Bereicherung für das Hotel sei, wenn die Gäste doch den Tieren ganz nah sein können. Über die Haltung von Delfinen in Gefangenschaft machten sie sich keine großen Gedanken. Gelder oder Provisionen erhielt das Hotel nicht. Die Einnahmen vom Schwimmen mit den Delfinen oder Fütterung und Streicheln kassierte vollumfänglich der Eigentümer der Delfine.
Lange beredeten wir die Situation der Delfine in türkischen Delfinarien. Auch dass es bisher keine Zuchterfolge gab und die Tiere allesamt Wildfänge aus dem Mittelmeer, Schwarzen Meer und aus Japan sind. Zudem sind manche türkischen Delfinarien mitverantwortlich für die blutigen Delfintreibjagden in Japan.
Das Hotelmanagement vesprach mir umgehend, dass sie die Anlage sofort schließen und nie mehr Delfine aufnehmen werden."
Das Delfingefängnis wurde umgehend geschlossen!
Andreas Morlok:
"We discussed in detail the situation of the dolphins in Turkish dolphinaria. Also the fact that there were up to now no breeding results and the animals are all wild captured from the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea and from Japan. Besides, some Turkish dolphinaria are jointly responsible for the bloody dolphin hunts in Japan.
Directly the hotel management promised to me that they will close the facility immediately and that they never keep dolphins again."
The dolphin prison was immediately closed!
Die Delfine wurden frühmorgens mit einem LKW über eine zum Teil sehr holprige Baustellentraße in das etwa 50 Kilometer entfernte andere Gehege bei Bodrum zurückgebracht. Eine weitere Tortur für die geschundenen und ausgebeuteten Delfine.
The dolphins were transported back early in the morning with a truck on a partly very rough dirt road to the other facility about 50 kilometres away from Bodrum. Another ordeal for the maltreated and exploited dolphins.

Erneute Korrespondenz mit dem Bürgermeister von Bodrum:
Wir fordern für die Delfine eine sofortige ärztliche Versorgung und ein schonendes Auswilderungsprogramm. Die Kosten von mehr als 100.000 Euro pro Tier soll der Delfinbesitzer übernehmen, der in den letzten fünf Jahren beträchtliche Summen mit seinen Delfinen verdient hat.
Wenn nicht sofort etwas für die Delfine getan wird, dann werden sie schon bald sterben!

In the early Monday morning both maltreated dolphins were transported again in the dolphinarium of Bodrum with a truck. Both dolphins were in a tiny pool in a department store in Bursa last year yet. After the closing there they were transported to the tiny sea pen to Bodrum/Gövernilink. The animal welfarists demand immediate medical care and a careful releasing program for the dolphins. The dolphin owner who should have earned a lot of money with his dolphins during the last five years should bear the costs of more than 100,000 euros for one animal according to both organizations.
With the co-operative mayor of Bodrum both organisations want to keep contact furthermore, so that a solution have to be found for the arrested dolphins. With the other cities the dolphin protectors are not so patient. Because there are no reactions up to now ProWal and WDSF called out the demand for closing the dolphin prisons now also in facebook to the boycott the holiday towns with dolphinaria.-

ProWal genel başkanı ve aynı zamanda Balina ve Yunus Koruma Forumu (WDSF) kuratoryum üyesi Andreas Morlok, haberi takip eden hafta sonu, bu hayvan zulmünü engellemek amacıyla Türkiye’ye uçmuştu.
Adı geçen her iki Alman deniz yaşamını koruma kuruluşlarına üye hayvan severler ve yardımcılar geçtiğimiz Nisan ayında Türkiye’deki yunus parklarında protesto gösterileri düzenlemişlerdi. Andreas Morlok (ProWAl) ve Jürgen Ortmüller (WDSF), yunus parkı bulunan şehirlerin belediye başkanları (Alanya, Antalya, Belek, Kemer, Kas, Bodrum, Marmaris, Kusadasi und Istanbul) ve Antalya valisiyle, küçük beton havuzlara ve deniz kafeslerine hapsedilerek tutsak edilen yunusların içinde bulundukları felaket arzeden duruma son verilmesi için yoğun görüşmelerde bulunmuşlardı. Bu hayvanlara ait hazin görüntüleri gördükten sonra Bodrum Belediye Başkanı Mehmet Kocadon, hayvanseverlere yunus parklarının kapatılacağı sözünü verdi.
Bunun üzerine Bodrum Yunus Parkı sahibi, burada bulunan iki yunusu gizlice Bodrum yakınlarındaki Kefakula-Hotel’e götürdü. Burada yuuslar, otel ziyaretcilerine birlikte yüzmek için para karşılığında tutsak edilmişlerdir. Tatilciler, yunuslarla yüzmek için beş dakikalık seansa 70 Euro ücret ödemişlerdir.
Otel idaresi, ProWal başkanı Andreas Morlok’la yapılan görüşmenin ardından, yunusların derhal otelden uzaklaştırılacakları sözünü vermişti. Otel sözcüsü Emine Mandıra’nın ifadelerine göre, otel yönetimi, yunus bulundurulmasının işletme imajına ne denli sekte vurabileceğini akıllarına bile getirmediklerini bildirmiştir. Mandıra ProWal başkanına „otelimizde birdaha asla yunus etkinliğine izin verilmeyecektir“ demiştir. Olayın trajıkomik yanı ise, Thomas Cok ‘un kısa bir süre önce otele EXCELLENCE AWARD predikatı vermesidir.
Morlok, her iki yunusun da ağır yaralı olduklarını yerinde tesbit etmiştir. Yunuslardan bir tanesinin dişleri kalmamış olduğu ve aynı zamanda çenesinin kırık olduğu tesbit edilmiştir. Diğerinin kafasında kanayan yaralar olup, derisinde aşırı derecede güneş yanığı olduğu tesbit edilmiştir. Hayvanların tutsak edildikleri „deniz kefesi“ sadece 4 metre derinliğinde olduğundan hayvanlar sürekli olarak direkt güneş ışınlarına maruz kalmışlardır. Morlok: „yat limannın hemen yakınında, çok hassas işitme duyuları olan bu hayvanlar gece gündüz sürekli bir şekilde adeta kulakları sağır eden disko müziği gürültüsüne maruz bırakılmışlardır“ demektedir.
Kötü durumdaki yunuslar hafta sonunu takip eden Pazartesi sabahı tekrar kamyonla Bodrum’daki yunus parkına taşınmışlardır. Bu iki yunus geçen yıl Bursa’da bir alışveriş merkezinde küçücük bir havuzda tutsaktılar. Buranın kapanmasından sonra bunlar Bodrum/Güvercinlik’teki küçük „deniz kafesine“ konuldular. Hayvan severler yunusların derhal tedavi edilerek, ait oldukları özgür sulara bırakılmalarını sağlayacak aşamalarla gerçekleşecek bir programa alınmalarını talep ediyorlar. Bunun masrafları olacak hayvan başına 100.000 EUR’yu da, kendi ifadesine göre geçen beş yıl içinde bu hayvanlardan muazzam paralar kazanmış olan işletme sahibinin ödemesi talep ediliyor.
Her iki kuruluşa üye olan hayvan severler, tutsak yunuslara bir çözüm bulabilmek için, seslerine kulak veren Bodrum Belediye Başkanıyla iletişim içerisinde kalmayı arzuluyorlar. Hayvan severlerin seslerine kulak vermeyen, onların protestolarına reaksiyon göstermeyen diğer yunus parkları barındıran şehirlerle ise, hayvan severler bu denli barışık ve sabırlı olmayıp, Facebook adlı sosyal paylaşım platformunda bu yunus parkları işletmeleri olan şehirlere ProWak ve WDSF’in buralara turizm boykotu çağrısı başlattıkları belirtilmiştir.
